Save the Serengeti

In the fifties and sixties Bernhard Grzimek and his son Michael, who died in a plane crash, made a movie and wrote a book about this amazing part of Tanzania.
The Serengeti is again in danger and this time in danger to be cut in half by a high road.
Please read the website and write to your politicians to put pressure on Tanzania to build the road to the south of this park.

Ayamonte animal shelter
This shelter is in the Spanish city of Ayamonte, on the border with Portugal.
Many volunteers work here and they are international. English, Dutch, Spanish and help feeding the animals, cleaning the cages, walking the dogs and cuddle the cats.
The sanctuary has contacts in Germany and Holland and when enough dogs are chosen for adoption, people drive these lucky dogs to their new homes.
I joined once this journey and it was an adventure to do so.
The long and winding road from Spain to Germany with lucky dogs to their happy new owners.
Watch the video I made of one of these journeys.
Going home
It was well worth it.

Animal shelter Goldra is closing down
http://quintinha-animalcentre.org/default.aspx
I heard the bad news that Goldra is closing down.
There were about 150 dogs and 35 cats and they need re-homing.
With hard work of a team of women, many were re-homed local or abroad in countries as Holland and Germany.
Many fostered a dog before they left so they get used living in a home, walking on a lead and get personal attention and love, which they never received in the shelter.
The shelter was a safe place and they were well looked after but there was no time for personal attention with so many animals.
There are still about 43 dogs left, the shy ones, the difficult ones, they are all a challenge for people who would like to give these dogs a chance in life.
Please read the website and watch my youtube and make a decision.

They were all dumped as unwanted pets by people.
We should give them something back what they lost, trust in the human race.

The Sheldrick wildlife trust in Kenya
The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust
Adopt an elephant and every month you will get an update about the orphans and the elephant you choose.
Read about the caretakers and their devotion to live with their elephants, day and night.
Laugh with the funny incidents and cry with the whole family (elephants and people) when one of them doesn't make it.
